When you wake up in the morning, how do you feel?

It’s a question that has many answers, but most of us will say that we wish on some level we could be happier with who we are, or that we could do more. Issues with self-esteem and self-confidence are perfectly naturally, and certainly not something you should feel ashamed of. All that matters is that you identify you would like to work on yourself, and then find the right approach for you. To do that you first need to understand why you feel the way you do.

Why Do You Feel This Way?

Every time I work with a new client, I feel it is essential to get to know them on a personal level. Everyone is different, which means what works for one person, may not work for another. My approach is to work with you to understand the way you feel, and why you feel that way; rather than blindly dispensing advice.

Getting to the heart of why you feel the way you do may not be the easiest thing to do, but it’s the first step towards building a positive image of yourself that allows you to go out into the world and achieve your goals. You may have had knock backs in the past, your inner critic may have gotten too big for your liking, or you might not even be able to put your finger on why you feel this way. My job is to take you on a journey that allows you to see what you need to work on.

Unlearning Learnt Behaviour

Once we understand why you feel the way you do, we then need to work on unlearning the behaviours that are impacting your life in a negative way. When you’re feeling less than your best, or you don’t feel like you’re the person you want to be, it can be all too easy to fall into a pattern of thinking that keeps you there.

This is a classic example of learnt behaviour, and it’s something that you can unlearn too. Simply by recognising this key point, you can give yourself the confidence to engage with the process and persevere. It may not sound like much, but it’s the most important step on your journey to the new you.

The Role of Hypnotherapy and NLP

Hypnotherapy and NLP offer a range of flexible and adaptable tools we can use to unlearn learnt behaviour that impacts your quality of life. By getting in touch with different areas of your brain, we can begin to unpick the complex processes that lie beneath the surface.

My role is to guide you through this deeply personal journey, and give you the confidence and reassurance that you need to reach the other end. By working together and feeding your experiences back into the process, we can develop a personal set of tools you can take with you for the rest of your life.

Connecting to Your Naturally Confident Self

Earlier I mentioned an inner critic — it’s a part of our conscious that pushes us to do better via a process of introspection. In some instances the critic can take over, and cause you to lose your confidence, esteem, and self-worth.

What I would like you to take away from reading this, is that as well as an inner critic, we have a naturally confident self within each of us too. This is the part of us that believes we can do anything we set our mind to, and it’s the part of your consciousness that we really want to bring to the fore. If we can do it, we can restore a sense of balance and calm within you. From here you will see your confidence and self-esteem return, and your goals will gradually move closer until they eventually become your new reality.

What Does the Future Look Like?

Feeling the way you do may not be pleasant, but it doesn’t have to be your reality. There are tools available to you that will allow you to connect with your naturally confident self, unlearn damaging behaviours, and rebuild yourself from the ground up.

My job is to guide you through this personal journey of renewal and self-discovery, and to show you that by simply deciding you want to walk it, you’re already taking the most important positive step you can.
